Town of Cobalt Walking Trail

The Town of Cobalt was a once thriving community boasting all the amenities of major cities. It had its own newspaper, a stock exchange, a Y.M.C.A. with an indoor pool and bowling alley (the remnants of which can still be found in the municipal building), a theatre, opera house and a number of banks and hotels. The original Bank of Ottawa building and early Bank of Commerce are still in excellent condition on the main street.
The walking tour through town will situate the visitor at many of these locations and provide some insight into the life of the early residents of the once thriving silver boom town.
